We are seeking a motivated biologist with expertise in developing and executing in vivo models of autoimmune and inflammatory disease in support of biologics drug development. As a Senior Associate/Principal Associate Scientist, you will be involved in Zag’s immunology research efforts in support of advancement of the company’s novel therapeutics platform for autoimmune disease. The successful candidate has a bias-to-action, thrives in a collaborative work environment, and is motivated by the desire to improve treatment options for patients with chronic disease. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Support development of preclinical models of inflammation and perform mechanistic studies to demonstrate activity and mechanisms of action (MoA) of our novel biologic agents
  • Design and execute well-controlled experiments, independently perform data analysis and summarize findings to key stakeholders 
  • Analyze data and present scientific findings at internal research meetings
  • Document research activities and findings in electronic laboratory notebook and reagent registries in keeping with the highest industry standards
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • The leveling of this position will be commensurate with experience. 
    • Senior Associate Scientist candidates require a BA/BS or equivalent with 4+ years or MS degree with 2+ years of relevant industry or academic research experience
    • Principal Associate Scientist candidates require a BA/BS or equivalent with 7+ years or MS degree with 5+ years of relevant industry or academic research experience
  • Significant hands-on experience with in vivo procedures using mice, including injections (IV, SC, IP), blood/tissue collection, etc.
  • Experience with standard immunology assays, including isolation of immune cells from tissues, multiparameter flow cytometry, multiplex cytokine analysis and qPCR
  • Proficiency in scientific computer programs including Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism, and FlowJo
  • Excellent organization and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic cross-functional environment
  • Experience with developing and optimizing immuno-assays (e.g., ELISA, MSD, Luminex, etc.) is desirable
